Business Disability Forum Partner, Sky is in best practice territory in how it engages disabled people and disability organisations in the design of its products and services.
Sky has worked closely with the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) to develop an updated version of its popular Sky+ app. The app aims to improve usability for customers with vision impairments to search, browse and record programmes on their mobile or tablet device.
The new version of the Sky+ app has been made compatible with the latest voice-over technology built into iOS and Android devices. Customers with visual impairments can now better navigate th app using a series of gestures and touch, while a voice over reads out each item of text that appears on the screen.
